Erol B. Gurcan graduated from the New York Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communications in 1984. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1988 where he made the Dean’s List and won the American Jurisprudence Award in Constitutional Law. After graduation, he worked for the Law Firm of Robert Serpe, handling automobile subrogation claims for State Farm Insurance Company and Allstate Insurance Company. Prior to joining Hannum Feretic Prendergast & Merlino, Mr. Gurcan worked for General Accident/CGU/One Beacon Insurance Companies as in-house counsel for 18 years as a trial attorney, handling automobile liability, premises liability, uninsured, underinsured and no-fault cases. He is admitted to practice law in the States of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He is also admitted in the United States District Courts for Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
